Fresh mushroom soup.

6 T butter.
5 cups chicken broth
2 T butter.
4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup chopped onion
1/8 tsp thyme
2 garlic cloves
6 T flour
salt and pepper
Saute onion and garlic in 6 T butter. add flour and cook 3 minutes. Stir into broth until smooth. Add seasonings. Saute mushrooms in 2 T butter:add to broth mixture and cook 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf and add cream. Heat on low just until hot.

creamy mexican soup.

3-4 boneless,skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup onoin chopped
2 cloves garlic
3 T.butter.
Brown together in a pan  until chickenis done.
Disolve 2 chiken buillion cubes in 1 cup hot water.Put together in a large pan.Add 1 1/2 tsp cumin,Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add 2 cans creamed corn.2 cups 1/2 and 1/2 2 cups montery jack cheese.grated.1 can green chillies.diced and undrained.Cook until cheese melts. Garnish with cilantro and tomatos if desired.

creamy tomato soup

7 large tomatos
3 crushed garlic cloves.
1 tsp italian herb blend
1/2 tsp rosemary
course ground pepper. to taste
1 pint haevy cream.shredded parm cheese for garnish.
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oragano
2 beef bulloin cubes
2 cups water
Blanch tomatos and peel.Put tomatos and all ingredents eccept water and cream in blender and blend until smooth. Cook on stove on med heat for 30 minutes. Add water and cream.. Heat just until it starts to boil. Remove from heat. Serve with fresh parmaesan cheese and warm bread

Harvest bread

1/2 c butter.
2 eggs,
1 tsp baking soda.
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c pumpkin
1 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp cinna,on
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
3/4 c choc chips
Crea butter,sugar,eggs.Combine the rest of the ing together with creamed mixture. Mix  together. Bake 350 for 1 hour. Add glaze if desired. 1/2 c powdered milk,1 T milk,1/8 tsp nutmeg,1/8 tsp cinnamon.

Orange rolls

1 pkg dry yeast.
1/2 cup butter(1 stick)
1/2 c. sugar
3 baeten eggs.
1/4 c. warm water.
3/4 cup milk scalded.
3/4 tsp salt
3 1/2 to4 1/2 cups flour.
Soften yeast in warm water. Sorten melted butter and scalded milk.Stir in sugar,salt,eggs. Cllo. Stir in softened yeast and enough flour to make a soft dough..Cover and let rise until double. Put on floured board and knead just enoughto coat dough with flour. It is a very soft dough. Divide in 1/2 and roll each 1/2 into rectangles. Speard with orange filling. made by creaming together.1/2 c butter,1/2 c sugar,grated rind of 1 orange. Roll loosley,Starting from the long side and pinch edge closed. .Put on pan. Cover and let rise till double. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes til golden brown.

Rocky Road Candy.

1 (12oz) pkg semi choclate chips.
1 # butter,cut into small pieces over choc chips.
mix above ingredients in a large bowl and et aside.
20 large marshmellows,cut into 1/4'sand frozen.
MIX:
4 cups sugar.
1 1/2 cup evaporated milk.
Bring sugar and evaporated milk to a boil and cook for 15 minutes,Stiring well.Pour over choc chips and buttr. stir until thick. Add nuts and frozen marshmellows. Pour into a 9x13 buttered pan. and refrigerate until cool. Cut into squares.

Toffee

1 bag choclate cips.
1 1/2 cup toasted and chopped almonds( to roast your own almonds. place them on a cookie sheet and bake them at 350. they are done when you can smell them. Let them cool and then taste them. If they are chewy they are not quite done.)
1 pound frozen frozen BUTTER not margerine.
1 cup sugar.
2 T. water.
Sprinkle 1/2 the almonds in a glass 9x13 pan. in a haevy sauce panat least 3 1/2 quart size. place frozen butter,sugar,and 2 T.water. Cook on high heat. . Str constantly til mixture is the color of a brown paper bag. It will look like it is burning-there will probally be smoke!  Pour over chopped almonds.Sprinkle top with bag of choclate chips and the rest of the almonds. Pat down slitghtly. Let cool overnight.Break with a sturdy knife.Keep in cool dry place. ( BREAK INTO BITE SIZED PIECES).It will last along time if stored properly. If the tofee is sticky when you eat it. It could be that it was not cooked long enough. It also could have gotten a little moisture in it. or it was in a place that was to warm.keep it in a covered container in a cool place.

York Brownies

3 sticks butter or margerine melted
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup cocoa
1 tsp salt.
1 T vanilla 2 cups flour.
1 tsp baking powder.
24 small york pepermint patties unwrapped.
Cream butter,sugar, vanilla. Add Eggs. Mx in flour,cocoa,baking powder,salt. Reserve 2 cups batter,set aside. Spread remaining batter in 9x13 pan. arrange peppermint patties in a single layer over batter about 1/2 inch apart. Spread remaining 2 cups batter over the top. Bake 350 Degrees for 50 to 55 miutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.Cool cpmpletly in pan. Cut into squares.

Pumpkin dip

15 oz can pumpkin
16 oz softened cream cheese.
Blend until smooth.
ADD--
3 cups powedered sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
Blend again.
You can substittue 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice for cinnamon and ginger.
Can be eaten with strawberries and other fruits. Also with grahmn crackers  and fresh pears or gingersnaps.

Since Fall/Autumn is here i thought i would share sme pumpkin recipes.

Pumpkin Ribbon bread.
This bread is beautifal when cut, with the slices out on  a serving plate.
   FILLING:
2 pkgs (3 oz) cream cheese softened.
1/3 c sugar
1 T. flour
1 egg
2 tsp grated orange peel.
BREAD;
1 cup cooked pumpkin
1/2 c veg oil
2 eggs
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 c. choppd pecans
  For filling beat cream cheese, sugar,and flour together in a small bowl. Add egg mix to blend.Stir in orange peel set aside. Make bread by combining pumpkin oil,and eggs in a large bowl. Add sugar salt,cloves,cinnamon.baking soda, flour and pecans mix to blend. Pour 1/4 of the batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture over batter. Add remaining batter, covering filling. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until bread tests with wooden pick. cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans. store in fridge makes 2 loaves

Homemade ranch salad dressing.

1 cup mayonaise
2 T. finally choppped green onion leaves.
2 tsp minced parsley.
1/4 tsp  onion powder
1/8 tsp cayennye pepper.
1/4 tsp black pepper.
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 tsp garlic powder.
1/4 tsp paperika.
1/4 tsp salt.

  Mix dry ingredients together, then blend all together.  refrigerate.

Chilli

Chili:

2 1/2 cups soaked overnight kidney beans.
To make a fst meal i use canned kidney beans. about 5 cans.

2 1/2 pounds lean hamburger.
3 large onions
2 to 3 quarts tomato juice.
1 1/2 cup kethup
1/3 c sugar.
2 1/2 T chili powder or to taste.
salt and pepper to taste.
    Cook beans or add canned beans. Fry hamburger and onion together. Add all ingredients.  simmer til ready to eat.

playdough

This is NOT a food recipe but i thought it might be fun for kids to play with.

Homemade playdough.

1 cup flour.
1 T oil
1 cup water ( add food coloring to the water)
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of tarter

mix together all ingrediants. cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until dough comes away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat and knead for a minute. Store in a plastic  container

Edible play dough.

For all my friends with kids this is a fun recipe.

EDIBLE PLAYDOUGH.

1 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter.
2 cups powdered sugar
Mix together well and store in airtight container.


It really works i have tried it. Your kids just might eat more than they play with.

Taco Soup

TACO SOUP.

Brown Together::
1 1/2 pounds hamburger.
1/4 cup onoion.
Add::
12 oz can tomatoes
10 oz frozen corn
1 Tbls chilli powder
2 cans undrained kidney beans.( or 4 to 5 cups cooked kidney beans and juice)
1/2 Tblspoon garlic powder.
1/2 cup taco sauce
Boil together and simmer. Sprinkle cheese and spoonful of sour cream on each serving. Can be eaten as a dip  with tortilla chips to.

Carmel popcorn

Carmel popcorn.

1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 white sugar
1 cup white karo syrup.
1/2 cup water.
1/4 tsp cream of tarter
1/2 pound butter.
6 quarts poped corn

Cook everything together but the popcorn together. Cook to softball stage. Then add 1/2 tsp baking soda pour popped corn.

This is a good fattning recipe. We don't make it to often but i thought i would share since it will be fall soon and it is fun to eat in the fall

Zuchinni Brownies.

This is a great recipe to use for those Zuchinni that you seem to have alot of in your garden.

Zuchinni Brownies.

2 cups peeled grated zuchinni
blend with 1/2 cup oil.
1 1/2 tsp soda
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp salt.
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts( optional)

Mix well and bake on greased and floured cookie sheet at 350 degreees for 18 to 20 minutes. Check in 15 minutes.
Frost with choclate frosting

French Bread pizza

1 large loaf of french bread. Split lenghtwise
Butter softened.

Pizza Sauce: ( OR I JUST USE A PREMADE PIZZA  SAUCE TO MAKE IT FAST AND EASY)
 1 can 6 oz tomato paste
1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp sweet basil leaves crumbled
1/2 tsp orageno leaves crumbled.
1 tsp parsley flakes.
1/4 cup parmesan cheese.

PIZZA TOPPINGS:
mozerella cheese
1 cup or more ground beef/pork susage/peperoni/salami.
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms.
or you can use what ever else you like on pizza.
       Lightly butter cut sides of french bread and place on a cookie sheet. Toast under broiler until light golden brown.You can eiter do the browning before or after you add the toppings. it just depends on how crispy you want it.
Bake 350 for 15 to 20 minutes or less. Great quick meal.

Chicken filled Cresant rolls

Cook 1 whole chicken and cube fine. Keep broth that chicken was cooked in.
Cream 8 oz cream cheese and 4 tablespoons butter.. Melted.
Mix these ingredients together with chicken.

3 or more packages cresent rolls.
Put 1  T chicken mixture on each roll. Rol up. Dip in melted butter.
Roll in bread crumbs, Put on cookie sheet. Bake until golden brown.
Warm 1 can cream of Chicken soupwith the saved broth . whe done cooking pour 2 spoonfuls of broth over top of baked rolls.

Fresh Salsa

10-12 Roma Tomatos ( Cut in small peices)
1/2 red onion
Corn (cooked) either off the cob or canned.( Cob is better.)
2 avacados
1/4  cup cilantro cup up
1 small green pepper.
1 small garden pepper.
1 lime squeezed juice.
Alot of salt and pepper
 1 good seasons Italian dressing seasoning packet.

Mix Altogether, Chill and eat with tortilla chips.

This is a great recipe for using the fresh veggies from our gardens. No cooking involved and very yummy.Enjoy.

Chicken Sandwich Filling

1/4 cup slivered Almonds
1 1/2 cups celery
1 T grated onion
2 cups cooked chopped chicken or turkey.
1 T lemon Juice.
1/2 cup red or green grapes
1/8 tsp seaseme seeds
1 tsp salt.
1/2 cup mayo or miracle whip.
1/4 cup grated chedder cheese.

Mix everything together and put on sandwichs. Makes alot.

Bacon Swiss BBQ Chicken

6 boneless skinless chicken breasts.
26 oz bottle bbq sauce
6 slices bacon halved and crisply cooked
6 slices swiss cheese.

Place chicken into a crockpot cover with bbq sauce. Cover and cook on low settingfor 8 to 9 hours. Arrange 2 stripshalved bacon over each piece of chicken. Top with cheese slices. Cover and cook on high setting until cheese melts about about 15 minutes. Makes 6 servings.

Savory Pot Roast

3-1/2 pound beef chuck roast
1 oz package ranch salad dressing mix
1 package onion soup mix
1 package brown gravy mix
1/2 cup warm water
Place roast in crockpot. Mix dry ingredients together and sprinkle over roast. Pour water into crockpot around roast. cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 7 hours. Makes 6 servings.

Pretzel Salad

2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup melted butter
2 T sugar
Spead over bottom of a glass square baking dish and bake for 8 minutes. Cool
Beat Together:
8 oz softened cream cheese, and 1 cup sugar
fold in 12 oz cool whip. Refrigerate.
Prepare:
1 large box rasberry or strawberry jello,2 cups boiling water- disolve 1 bag frozen rasberries or strawberries.Refrigerate to set.
Layer:
level cream cheese mixture onto pretzel crust.Stir up jello and smooth onto cream cheese layer. Serve as a side dish. Keep refrigerated.

Candied Chicken

Flour and brown chicken parts and put in a baking dish.
Cover with sauce:
1 1/2 C. brown sugar
1/4 C.prepared Mustard
1/2 C.Ketchup
1 T worchershire sauce
1/4 C onion
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 C water.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs.

This will be the first entry on my recipe blog. Fell free to comment.

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef.
3/4 cup oatmeal
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 c milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp worchestershire sauce.
Bake 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. drain off fat. if there is any. Pour sauce over the meat balls cook for an extra 15 to 20 minutes.
Sauce:
3/4  cup Brown Sugar
1/2 c vinegar
2 tsp mustard
1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
2 tsp worchestershire sauce
